An engrossing tale of three convicts - Jackie Shroff, Nagesh Kukunoor, Naseeruddin Shah- who are serving their death sentence in a jail. Comes Juhi Chawla, a documentary film-maker, who wishes to make a documentary on how such convicts spend their life in jail. While Nagesh pleads not-guilty throughout their interaction, Jackie accepts his hanging orders and is waiting for it. Of all the three, Naseeruddin is quite a colourful character, who does not shows any remorse and is sure he will run away from the jail. Again and again, Juhi asks him if he has any remorse for shooting a lady, pregnant with twins. Though Naseeruddin is sorry that it happened, but he has no guilt conscience. Still, Juhi helps him to escape from the jail. It is only in the climax that the viewers come to know that all the three stories are entwined together and Nasseuddin is the culprit for the murders Jackie and Nagesh are convicted for. But, there's one more angle to it. Juhi is closely related to all this because it was her sister who Naseeruddin shot.
Beautifully directed, excellent typecast and not-to-forget performances, this movie is a must to watch. Though it might not interest people who like commercial cinema, but it will definitely touch a chord with one and all. Hats off to the wonderful tam of Teen Deewarein.
